Banhart possesses a chirpy vibrato voice like Marc Bolan's and a gift for strange wordplay -- pastoral mashups that he pours out gently over his finger-plucked acoustic guitar. Though his second CD has a charming Ambrose Bierce quality to it, a little goes a long way.
