All About

Spider-Man 2

Dr. Otto Octavius, a.k.a. Doc Ock

(Alfred Molina)

In ''Spider-Man''? Nope.

In ''Spider-Man 2'' Octavius is an urbane, happily married scientist who mentors Peter Parker. But when Oscorp's fusion experiment (which, for some reason, involvesĀ fusing metal arms to his spine) fails, poor Otto goes mad. He then wreaks more havoc on New York City than even Courtney Love could manage.

In the comic books Dr. Octopus (as he's usually known) is one of the few villains who's actually defeated Spider-Man. At one point, he even dated -- and nearly married -- Aunt May. Sadly, the ''Uncle Octopus'' plotline didn't make it into the movie.
