Stop us if you've heard this one before: Britney Spears is spotted cavorting with a dancer from her tour, and it turns out he's a family man whose significant other is several months pregnant with his child. Spears denies the romance, but the damage is done, and the homewrecked couple splits up. Last summer, that was the story with Spears and hoofer Columbus Short. This week, it's Kevin Federline, whose girlfriend, ''Moesha'' actress Shar Jackson, is seven months pregnant with their second child. ''It wasn't like just breaking up a relationship,'' the 27-year-old actress tells People magazine, adding that Spears knew she was Federline's girlfriend. ''It was like breaking up a family.''
Star magazine reports that Federline, 26, met Spears, 22, when he danced as part of her 2000 tour. On Friday, Spears and Federline left the Beverly Hills Hotel in her white Mercedes, picked up some Subway sandwiches, and drove to the beach in Santa Monica, where paparazzi in hovering helicopters photographed them strolling on the sand together. According to People, they then returned to the hotel and did not emerge until Saturday afternoon. That night, Spears flew to London, where her European tour began on Monday.
Jackson, who is the mother of Federline's 21-month-old daughter, told Us Weekly: ''He called me and said he didn't want me to read about it somewhere before he told me. We haven't broken up -- yet.'' A source close to Spears, however, tells People that there's no romance going on, but that ''Britney's just having fun.''
Last summer, Spears was photographed smooching her backup dancer Columbus Short. In February, Short told Star ''The chemistry was magical... our feelings were so strong.'' He said he'd shared a bed with Spears but that they never had sex, and that her mom broke up the romance before it went very far. Nonetheless, it went far enough that Short's eight-months-pregnant wife, Brandi, divorced him. Still, he concluded, ''Despite everything that happened, I'll always remember those special moments with Britney.''
