Charges against Jason Patric dismissed -- The '"Alamo'' actor won't face charges of public intoxication and resisting arrest

''Alamo'' star Jason Patric won't have to face criminal charges as a memento of his visit to Austin, Texas, for the film's premiere. Police have dropped charges of public intoxication and resisting arrest against the actor, according to the Associated Press. Authorities told the wire service that they didn't have sufficient evidence to prove the charges.

Police previously told AP that Patric was among a group of people milling about at 3 a.m. on a downtown street who were asked to move, and claimed that he shoved an officer who tried to arrest him. At the time, Patric denied being drunk.

''Mr. Patric is extremely pleased and feels vindicated,'' Patric's publicist told AP. ''He is now consulting with legal counsel to consider his next step regarding his arrest, imprisonment, and treatment at the hands of the Austin Police Department.'' Unfortunately, charges that ''The Alamo'' was a huge flop are unlikely to be dropped.
