Eminem may have been sarcastic when he called D12 ''My Band,'' but record buyers clearly believed it, snapping the Detroit hip-hop group's second album as if it were a Slim Shady solo project (he's officially just one of five members). ''D12 World'' debuts at No. 1 on the latest Billboard 200 chart, selling 544,000 copies and knocking Usher's ''Confessions'' from the top spot, according to SoundScan figures cited in published reports.
Other debuts include jazz singer (and Elvis Costello spouse) Diana Krall's ''The Girl in the Other Room'' at No. 4, and ''American Idol Season 3: Greatest Soul Classics,'' which includes tracks from all 10 finalists, at No. 10. The rest of the top 10 includes: Prince's ''Musicology'' at No. 3, Mario Winans' ''Hurt No More'' at No. 5, ''Now That's What I Call Music Vol. 15'' at No. 6, Hoobastank's ''The Reason'' at No. 7, Kanye West's ''The College Dropout'' at No. 8, and Evanescence's ''Fallen'' at No. 9.
