Luther Vandross has no recollection of the massive stroke he suffered last April, he told Oprah Winfrey Thursday in his first interview since the incident. ''I don't remember anything during the stroke,'' Vandross told Winfrey. He also said that he was angry and depressed after the stroke, and that he blamed himself for ignoring his diabetes. ''It wasn't done to me. It was something that I did. And I wish I hadn't,'' he told Winfrey.
The show also showed footage of Vandross' ongoing rehabilitation, which includes physical therapy sessions and ''singing therapy'' with his back-up singers. ''I keep getting told that I'm doing well,'' he said. The segment concluded with a tribute to Vandross by Ruben Studdard, who sang ''Superstar'' for his idol.
