The database goes back to 1989, yet as stat-happy as the site is, there’s not quite enough perspective. The telltale per-screen averages—helpful in drawing apples-to-apples comparisons between films—aren’t included in the weekly report; they are in the seasonal overview, but by then they’re far less relevant. And the historical charts are just that: numbers and no interpretation. A good start, nonetheless.
