Mead's third release is a classic breakup album, except that the ill-fated relationship is with NYC. On the road to romantic recovery, the singer-songwriter embraces new lovers (''New Mexico'' and the bittersweet title track) and suffers the occasional relapse (''Queensboro Bridge''). With its honeyed vocals, the record leaves an impression that's like the Manhattan skyline: compelling and endearing.
