POSEURS Fiennes, Thurman, and Connery

It's possible I couldn't comprehend "The Avengers" simply because it kept lulling me to sleep, but a sentient viewing confirmed that the film version of the '60s spy series is 90 minutes of mild nonsense. Thurman is the kinkily clad Emma Peel, Fiennes the spruce John Steed, and Connery the kilted baddie planning to kidnap the weather. Together, the actors succeed in maintaining professional dignity.
