Robert De Niro; Cybill Shepherd; Jodie Foster; Martin Scorsese

The most Scorsesean of Martin Scorsese's films is this 1976 classic in which the director and screenwriter Paul Schrader loosed De Niro's Underground Man on a New York City made nightmarishly baroque by raw corruption and aching alienation. This digitally remastered edition includes a sharp behind-the-scenes documentary -- 20 minutes on the tape, 70 on disc -- that turns up tidbits ranging from Foster's tales of rehearsing with De Niro to the costume designer's scoop on the making of Travis Bickle's Mohawk.
