Lead Performance: Bijou Phillips
B
Hardly the vanity project you'd expect from the party-scene progeny of Papa John Phillips, teen queen Bijou's debut is weird, warped, and delightfully bratty. Though prone to grand statements (''I Own You,'' ''I Never Shot the President'') and attempts at puerile shock value (''If I practice really hard/I could be an alcoholic''), the kid's got the chops. And, unlike confessional progenitor Alanis, she radiates a seedy, lived-to-tell experience beneath that cherubic chirp.
