Dr. Evil's world-dominating soul mate, Madonna, easily tops this compilation with her luminescent ''Beautiful Stranger.'' Aside from that sublimity, though, it's mixed-bag business as usual. While Green Day score with the instrumental ''Espionage'' and R.E.M. dutifully take on Tommy James and the Shondells' ''Draggin' the Line,'' they're not enough to counter Big Blue Missile's lazy do-over of the Zombies' ''Time of the Season,'' Lenny Kravitz's atrocious ''American Woman,'' and Spice Girl Melanie G.'s massacre of Cameo's ''Word Up.''
