Blow Out

Bravo June 8 9 p.m.

In case you haven't heard, Beverly Hills hairstylist Jonathan Antin (shown, with client Margaret Cho) is a star. ''There's nobody on this planet better with hair than I am,'' boasts Antin. ''They may be as good as I am, but not better. No way!'' Apparently exec producer Ben Silverman (''The Restaurant'') agrees; he handpicked the stylist to star in a six-episode reality show documenting Antin's good- and bad-hair days as he opens up the Jonathan Salon in Beverly Hills. ''Jonathan is dynamic, great-looking, articulate, kinda neurotic, and he loves the ladies,'' Silverman says. ''He epitomizes the whole Beverly Hills hairstylist business.''

But unlike NBC's ''The Restaurant,'' which cooked up only lukewarm ratings, Silverman says ''Blow Out'' will be ''less dark'' -- unless you count celebrity meltdowns over canceled appointments. ''This show will be funnier -- if only because these crazy Beverly Hills people are so obsessed!'' That's putting it mildly. Confesses Antin: ''This is my life, dude. I eat, breathe, sleep, and s--- hair.'' Dude, we'll take your word for it.

WHY WE'LL TUNE IN No boardroom firings, tribal councils, or rat-eating here -- ''Blow Out'''s success depends solely on whether audiences like Antin. Lucky for us, the folks at Bravo are pretty good at spotting a star (we salute you, Carson Kressley).
