Sold short in its theatrical release last spring by being tagged Tarantino-esque, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, British newcomer Guy Ritchie's cheeky, bullet-riddled melee -- sparked off by four sharp-dressed lads scheming to repay a £500,000 marker -- should be a hit on video. At the very least, the rewind button offers the chance to suss out the twisting plot, the motley crew of East End criminals, and the clever dialogue made all the more challenging by cockney slang. It's not genre-defining (at this point, what could be?) but, loaded with devilishly hip camera work and a driving soundtrack, it's bloody fun.
