Goodbye, liposuction; hello, dieting and exercise. That's the theme of the upcoming NBC reality series ''The Biggest Loser,'' in which a dozen or so overweight people will compete to shed the most fat, according to Variety. Contestants -- who will each be carrying at least 35 extra pounds -- will move into a house together, the trade paper reported. There, they'll try several different eating and exercise plans.

But don't expect any starvation diets. ''We want to create a healthy way for them to lose weight,'' exec producer Dave Broome told Variety. ''Nobody here will be eating only 400 calories a day.'' Another exec producer, Ben Silverman, has high hopes for the show's social impact. He told Variety: ''Hopefully we will inspire an overweight America to get fit.'' So, in other words, try this at home.
