STEPPIN' 'OUT' John Cleese makes merry in the ''Out-of-Towners'' remake

Don't hate yourself for chuckling at The Out-of-Towners, a sweetly anachronistic update of the 1970 Neil Simon comedy. As hapless Midwesterners making their screwball way through big, bad New York City, Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn may tend toward the hokey, but in these ''There's Something About Mary'' times, isn't it nice to know that broad comedy isn't all just fart jokes and bodily emissions?
Reel Goodies High on a hallucinogen, Martin frolics through Central Park to the strains of ''Aquarius.''
The Last Detail How apropos: ''Sex and the City'''s Cynthia Nixon appears as a recovering nymphomaniac.
