DENNIS TO SOCIETY ''Simon Sez'' Rodman should stick to B-ball

Movie Review

Simon Sez (1999)

EW's GRADE
D-

Details Rated: PG-13; Genre: Action/Adventure; With: Dennis Rodman

Like RuPaul or Jenny McCarthy, Dennis Rodman is a casualty of the 24-hour-freak cycle: He's yesterday's threatening omni-sexual exhibitionist turned today's overexposed cliché. (Consider yourself warned, Marilyn Manson.)

Rodman would have been wise to ditch the sci-fi hair and nose rings for his latest movie outing, Simon Sez, but here he is, as an Interpol agent along the French Riviera, towering over everyone on screen as he waits to growl out his next ''wicked'' retort. The movie, a shoddy mess, is a bargain-basement rip-off of ''Ronin,'' which means that an occasional scrappy car chase gets mixed in with the martial-arts bouts and sub-scrappy suspense.
