LIFE ON A FAST LANE Diane ''Moons'' over groovy drifter Mortensen

Credits

B-
The directorial debut of actor Tony Goldwyn, A Walk on the Moon, is a nostalgia bit that spuriously links the '60s counterculture, Neil Armstrong's stroll, and one housewife's carnal self-indulgence. Summering at a Catskills resort in 1969, Lane trades her lazy days of mah-jongg for a fling with Mortensen's suave hippie. Their romance leads them to Woodstock, but the tone of this tale is more easy-listening than acid rock.

Reel Goodies Liev Schreiber, playing Lane's husband, learns of her betrayal -- and sparks one of the movie's few moments of real passion. The Last Detail The voice on the resort's PA system belongs to Julie (Marge Simpson) Kavner.
