Oops, she did it again. Britney Spears suffered another knee injury Tuesday night during a music video shoot on the streets of New York and had to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery. According to a statement released by Jive Records, Spears and Snoop Dogg were shooting a video for her single ''Outrageous'' beneath the elevated train tracks on Roosevelt Avenue in Queens at 11:30 p.m. when her knee gave out while she was dancing. She was immediately taken to a hospital, where an MRI scan discovered floating cartilage in her knee, leading doctors to perform the surgery.
''It was an old dance injury,'' a Spears spokesperson told Reuters. In fact, the 22-year-old injured her knee while dancing during a concert in March, forcing her to postpone two shows. She was also sidelined for a month in 1999 after hurting her knee during a dance rehearsal. It's not clear how long it will take her to recover from her current injury, or whether she will do so in time to meet her commitments. The video was to be released on June 28, in anticipation of the movie ''Catwoman,'' on whose soundtrack ''Outrageous'' appears. And Spears is scheduled to resume her North American tour on June 22 in Hartford, Conn. Spears camp expects to know the details within a few days, MTV News reports.
