Pamela Anderson will write a novel. She'll flesh out her first novel, ''Star,'' with the help of a ghostwriter

She's been a centerfold, a TV actress, an amateur porn star, and a cartoon character -- and now Pamela Anderson wants to be a novelist. The former ''Baywatch'' babe will publish the first of two planned novels, the aptly titled ''Star,'' in August, according to her publicist, who confirmed a report in the New York Post. Anderson wrote an outline for the book, and will work with ghostwriter Eric Shaw to produce the finished product, according to the Post.

Although the novel will tell the story of a provincial girl who leaps to stardom after being picked out of the crowd of a sports arena (all of which actually happened to Anderson), her publicist stresses that the book will ''not be an autobiography.'' The non-autobiographical tale will continue in a second novel, ''Star Struck,'' the Post reported. Any chance Book 3 will be ''Star on a Boat With Tommy Lee''?
