Gilberto's 2000 debut, Tanto Tempo, a savvy, sexy blend of bossa nova and electronic chill-out, sold nearly a million worldwide, making her the Norah Jones of her genre. On her mostly self-written follow-up, Joao's daughter once again shows that her voice is the embodiment of breathy Brazilian cool. As you might expect, the Portuguese tunes are better than the English at instantly whisking you into a dream state, but all the songs play like a lovely summer breeze.
