MUSTWORTHINESS The mother-daughter writing team (mom is P.J., daughter is Traci) threw a ''Monkeewrench'' into the best-seller list last year and then followed up that debut mystery with the intricately plotted ''Live Bait'' -- which follows a string of Minneapolis murders.
CREATIVE PROCESS The women, who live in Minnesota (P.J.) and California (Traci), say they need to be in the same room to write. ''And we act out the plot, so we have crazy fun doing that,'' says Traci. Must get interesting for the murder scenes.
NEXT The third Monkeewrench book, ''Milk Run,'' is due out next spring.
