Unfortunately, singer-bassist Johnette Napolitano forgoes flaunting her famed haunting timbre in favor of issuing bristling whispers. But ''Mojave'''s audible mysticism, brazen electricity, and hallucinogenic reverie are, at times, intoxicating.
