A very diverse group of films will debut at multiplexes this weekend, including Michael Moore's headline-grabbing documentary ''Fahrenheit 9/11.'' But when the dust has settled, the comedy ''White Chicks'' could end up at the top of the heap.

''Chicks,'' starring Marlon and Shawn Wayans, will appeal to the same audience that made "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story" the top film last week. Expect the silly film to gross about $22 million over the three-day weekend and over $30 million since its Wednesday debut.

"Dodgeball," meanwhile, should slip 50 percent from its $30 million debut last weekend to $15 million. That would put it neck-and-neck with "Fahrenheit," which, despite opening on only about 1000 screens, will be a potent force at the ticket counters. A debut in the $14 million range seems likely.

Tom Hanks' "The Terminal" should place fourth, falling 40 percent to $10 million, just ahead of the week's two other new releases: the moving romance "The Notebook," which should see a $9 million opening, and the family film "Two Brothers," which could premiere with about $8 million. This weekend, controversy should translate into dollar signs.
