Mary-Kate Olsen was discharged from an undisclosed clinic on Friday after six weeks of treatment -- reportedly for an eating disorder -- and she came home 5 pounds heavier, MTV News reports. ''She is feeling very well and is looking forward to rejoining her family and friends and preparing for her freshman year at New York University,'' her publicist, Michael Pagnotta, said in a statement.
The 18-year-old actress/mini-mogul acknowledged her ailment in June and spent six weeks at the clinic, during which time twin sister Ashley canceled a promotional trip to Australia (for the sisters' movie ''New York Minute'') and the dairy board dropped the girls' ''Got Milk?'' ads. Now that she's checked out, Mary-Kate will continue to receive private treatment ''with a great team of people,'' Pagnotta said, both at home in Los Angeles and at school in New York. He added, ''For the time being, she will be leading as normal a life as possible, with family, friends, preparing for school, shopping, dinner, movies, etc. She won't be hiding.'' Glad ''dinner'' is on that list.
