One Olympics score that no one can argue with: NBC has been the undisputed Nielsen ratings winner during the first full week of Athens Games coverage. The seven most-watched shows of the week were NBC's nights of sporting events, topped by Thursday's women's gymnastics all-around victory for America's Carly Patterson (it drew 31.7 million viewers). Ratings for the first 10 days of the games are up 7 percent over NBC's coverage of the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. Over the seven nights ending Sunday, NBC averaged 27.1 million viewers, nearly four times as many as its nearest rival.
That would be CBS, which averaged 7.3 million viewers for the week. It boasted the top non-Greek show, usual ratings champ ''CSI: Crime Scene Investigation'' (11.4 million viewers), as well as the next 11 shows on the chart. ABC won the bronze with an average of 4.5 million viewers, followed by Fox (4.4 million), UPN (2.5 million), and the WB (2.2 million).
