''Consequences,'' utters exec producer Carol Mendelsohn. It's the one-word theme for the new season and something cast members Jorja Fox and George Eads know a heck of a lot about after asking for raises in July and getting the boot. Now that the duo has been rehired, says Mendelsohn, ''life on the set has pretty much returned to normal.'' For ''CSI,'' that means creepy villains, like the surprise return of season 3's Blue Paint Killer, which thoroughly shakes Grissom (William Petersen). It also means addressing the whole DUI thing with Sara (Fox). ''She's not drinking because of Grissom. It's something that makes her who she is,'' Mendelsohn teases. Also ''24'''s Reiko Aylesworth comes aboard as a lab tech at the start of season 4. Will she last? Says Mendelsohn: ''All I can tell you is she'll be on the premiere.'' Hmmm...a mystery.
