How did Archer (Scott Bakula) survive last season's explosion? Exec producer Brannon Braga hints that the answer involves ''Enterprise'''s time-travel war, to be resolved in the series' fourth season. Which means...more Nazis! Plus alien Nazis! Um, why? ''The original show did Nazis. 'Voyager' did Nazis on a holodeck. But we've never gone back in time and done Nazis -- we wanted a twist that was almost absurd.'' Nice work! New episodes depict an alternate WWII, with Hitlerites in America. Says Braga: ''We wanted to see the Nazis take over the White House.'' (Not touching that one.) Later, ''Next Gen'''s Brent Spiner guests as a villainous ancestor of Dr. Soong, who created Data. As for the dismal ratings, Braga says the move away from ''American Idol'' can only help. ''Last season, the quality improved dramatically -- not that it was bad -- but it did need an infusion of something.''
