At last, Det. Olivia Benson can crack a smile. ''Law & Order: Special Victims Unit'' star Mariska Hargitay, who's up for her first Emmy this month after several years spent playing the dour detective on the hit show, was married last Saturday in California to actor Peter Hermann, an ''SVU'' guest star, People reports. It was the first wedding for both Hargitay, 40, and Hermann, 37.

The couple were wed at a church in Santa Barbara and held a reception for 200 guests at an estate in nearby Montecito. The bride wore a blush-colored Carolina Herrera gown and wore gardenias in her hair. ''They're mad about each other,'' wedding planner Yifat Oren told People. ''And they're hilariously funny together.''
