8-8:30PM Unfabulous (Nickelodeon, TV-Y) Emma Roberts (left) lends her aunt Julia's superfamous last name and winning charm to this sitcom about quirky 13-year-old Addie Singer, who writes silly songs to deal with her so-called life. ''Unfabulous'' doesn't transcend the tween genre -- cheesy lines and clunky delivery abound -- but one expects the kid-heavy cast to get smoother with practice. Addie's family is a hoot (particularly her self-absorbed older brother, played by Tad Kelly), and it's hard, even for grown-ups, to resist Roberts' relatable adolescent struggles -- or her adorable presence. 4-7PM U.S. Open Tennis (CBS) No contested start values. No international incidents. No courts of arbitration. I never noticed it before, but sports are really boring without lawyers.
SEASON PREMIERE 7-8PM Steve Harvey's Big Time (The WB) It's a variety hour that's part ''Fear Factor,'' part ''The Gong Show.'' Chuck Barris must be so proud.
7:30-9PM A Separate Peace (Showtime, TV-R) Original movie based on the John Knowles novel about boys at a prep school before the Second World Wa—ZZZzzzzzzz. Huh? Wait. What was I saying?
SERIES DEBUT 8-9PM The Critical Hour: Shock Trauma (Discovery Health Channel, TV-PG) You have one hour to live after an accident! Okay, it's more like one hour for your best chance at recovery. It was more fun the other way.
8-10PM Bulworth (Comedy Central) Politician starts telling the truth, gets more popular, and lands Halle Berry. Hello?! Why haven't the real statesmen tried this plan? She is available.
9-10PM Six Feet Under (HBO, TV-MA) ''David confronts a demon face-to-face.'' Does this mean the return of a certain crack-head kidnapper? I'm usually against violence, but I say game on! Kick his butt, David!
SERIES DEBUT 9-10PM Jack & Bobby (The WB) No, this show isn't about those two famous brothers, one of whom grows up to be president. This show is about two fictional brothers, one of whom grows up to be president. How can you tell the difference? The TV Jack and Bobby don't have a fat brother named Teddy.
SEASON FINALE 10-10:30PM Entourage (HBO, TV-MA) Eric wants a title commensurate with his duties. Don't give in, Vince. When the woman who gave birth to me demanded that I start calling her ''Mom,'' the whole balance of power shifted.
