Che Guevara's life after ''Motorcycle Diaries'' -- Here's what happened to the revolutionary figure after the road trip chronicled in his movie biopic

T-shirt icon Ernesto ''Che'' Guevara once took a youthful trans-South America trip, now the subject of The Motorcycle Diaries. Here's what happened to the gun-totin', Marx-lovin', real-life revolutionary after the movie's end.

In 1956, along with Fidel Castro, the 28-year-old launched the first (and only) lasting socialist revolution in the Americas, overthrowing Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista.

He tried to incite a revolt in Bolivia but was captured and executed by the country's militia in '67.

As proof of his death, his hands were preserved and reportedly stored in Cuba's Palace of the Revolution.

His last words? ''Shoot, coward, you're only going to kill a man.''
