John Woo will direct big-screen ''He-Man.'' The '80s toys will come to life in a live-action film

Children of the 1980s, rejoice: He-Man, Skeletor, and Battle Cat are returning to the big screen, courtesy of director John Woo (Paycheck) according to Variety. The characters, who were part of a popular '80s toy line and cartoon series, were first brought to film in 1987's flop Masters of the Universe. Dolph Lundgren played the heroic He-Man, Frank Langella was the villainous Skeletor, and a young Courteney Cox played an Earth teenager in our dimension who gets drawn into the battle (which took place in the distant land of Eternia)

Adam Rifkin (Detroit Rock City) will write the new film's screenplay, which will presumably start from scratch — so we probably won't be catching up with Cox's character. There's no word on casting yet, but we suggest Sen. Zell Miller as Skeletor and Lindsay Lohan as She-Ra, Princess of Power.
