In David O. Russell's madly verbose metaphysical screwball comedy, an environmentalist (Jason Schwartzman) hires two ''existential detectives'' (Dustin Hoffman and Lily Tomlin) to show him the meaning of life. It's a grab bag of ideas that don't stick with you because they don't stick together.
