Gephardt points out something 'Political'
Diary of a Political Tourist: Michael Vos

MONDAY

OCTOBER 11

8-9:30PM Diary of a Political Tourist (HBO, TV-PG) ''After a year on the road, I still don't know why John Kerry won.'' That's disingenuous coming from the director of Journeys With George and the daughter of the House Minority Leader. Alexandra Pelosi, in her new documentary on Democratic candidates like Dick Gephardt (left), wants it both ways: to be an outsider, while trading on her connections to get access. It results in vignettes like one with Kerry, who turns Pelosi's own camera (and questions) on her, asking, ''Are you a caricature of this whole process?'' Her answer? ''I'm becoming one, I guess.'' B-

6:30-11:45PM National Anthem: Inside the Vote for Change Concert Tour (Sundance) Blue-leaning musical artists like Bruce Springsteen, the Dixie Chicks, the Dave Matthews Band, and R.E.M have been sweeping battleground states under the Vote for Change rubric. They're all getting together at D.C.'s MCI Center for the tours' final night. The concert will air live following a special shot by documentarians Albert Maysles and D.A. Pennebaker that includes informal footage of the musicians and their audiences in intimate moments from the tour. All in all, it's a night even conservatives will enjoy — as long as they hit mute during the between-the-songs Kerrymandering.

8-9PM The Benefactor (ABC, TV-PG-L) Charged with performing random acts of kindness, the contestants turn on each other. Which, when you think about it, kills two birds with one stone.

9-10PM Everwood (The WB) Call us crazy, but we're excited that Anne Heche is joining the cast as Amanda Carter, who becomes involved with Dr. Andy  Brown (Treat Williams) while he tries to treat her husband's paralysis. Really??? Yuck.

9-10PM Las Vegas (NBC, TV-14) Guest star George Hamilton gambles all his money away, rather than split it with his ex. What a waste. From now on, rich folks, think: WWOD? What would Oprah do? Then buy me a car.

SEASON PREMIERE 10-11PM Real World/Road Rules. Battle of the Sexes 2 (MTV, TV-PG) Young people embark on tests of spiritual and physical toughness to learn more about themselves. And if they hook up, isn't that all part of the process?

10-11PM CSI: Miami (CBS, TV-14-V) Last week was a yacht drive-by. Now it's a flash-mob murder. Folks used to moved to Miami to die warm. Now they just want to die trendy.

10-11PM The Apprentice (QVC) The home-shopping channel presents a special segment featuring footage from last week's Apprentice episode, during which the teams competed to sell typical QVC products. Viewers can get all up in the men's team's grills or the women's sponges. Appearing are the Mosaic men, the Trumpster, recently fired Pamela, and, last and most certainly least, the first season's Sam Solovey.
