EW reviews two boogie band albums
Cactus were an early-'70s metallic boogie band that started out with
starry-eyed notions of becoming the American Led Zep; being cartoonishly
crude and rude, they never quite succeeded. Bad Wizard are a present-day
metallic boogie band that seems to want to be the new Cactus; being
cartoonishly crude and rude, they succeed admirably. Fun suggestion:
Place both Barely Contained and #1 Tonite in your CD player and program for random play.
Betcha can't tell which is which!
