Surviving Christmas was ready to come out last Xmas, but DreamWorks had an agreement with Paramount not to go head-to-head with Ben Affleck's Paycheck. So, when to release last year's Xmas movie? How about in October? ''The marketplace is very crowded,'' says a DreamWorks rep, ''so we thought we'd start the holiday season early.'' Only nine shopping days till Halloween!
