As if The O.C.'s Kirsten Cohen (Kelly Rowan) didn't have enough to worry about, what with her runaway son, larcenous dad, and disastrous family room renovation. Now she'll have to worry about the reappearance of husband Sandy's (Peter Gallagher) old flame. She'll be played by Emmy winner Kim Delaney, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The NYPD Blue and CSI: Miami alumna will guest star on at least five episodes of Fox's nighttime soap, whose second season begins Thursday.
In other stunt casting news: Variety reports that ABC's Hope & Faith will have a new love interest for Kelly Ripa's Faith: a new next door neighbor, a baseball player named the Gooch. He'll be played for three episodes by Mark Consuelos, who we hear got the job because he's sleeping with Ripa. And Teri Polo, of Meet the Parents and the upcoming Meet the Fockers, may follow in Laura Bush's footsteps as the next First Lady from Texas. She'll appear on The West Wing as the wife of Rep. Matthew Santos, a Texan legislator and presidential hopeful. (He's played by Jimmy Smits, who was, of course, Delaney's love interest for several years on NYPD Blue.) According to the Reporter, Polo will appear on at least four episodes of the NBC drama this season, but she has an option to return for 12 more next year, should the show get renewed and her character move into the East Wing.
