Now that she's a housewife who plans to spend less time in the public eye, Britney Spears wants to remind her fans that she has new priorities, although one of those priorities seems to be keeping the fans informed of her every move while she's out of the spotlight. For the second time in a month, she's posted a lengthy letter to her supporters online, this time on the World of Britney fan site. ''This is the happiest I've ever been in my life,'' writes the newlywed, having just returned from her honeymoon. She reaffirms that she wants to relax, writing, ''I don't think I'll do another tour for a couple of years. My priorities in life have changed. I am having fun again reading all the magazines that I enjoy (mainly because I am not on them).''
Spears says she finds next Tuesday's release of her Greatest Hits: My Prerogative CD a good time to take stock. ''I'm not the type of person to put blame on other people, but I do feel that some things which were done for me were not always in my best interests. Looking back, I feel now that on my 4th album [In the Zone] ''less is more'' should have been the way to go.'' Of her life as a homebody, she writes, ''I'm redecorating a lot of things because when we decide to start a family, everything in it needs to be perfecto! I love decorating; it's very therapeutic for me. I believe your house is a reflection of yourself, so I want everything in mine to be exquisite.'' She's even redecorating her dog's digs. ''My dog, Lacy, just got fixed and she's not acting like herself! I’m going to have Shabby Chic re-cover her bed and maybe that will lift her spirits!''
For all her talk of starting a family, Spears' reps have spent much of this week insisting that the new Mrs. Kevin Federline is, as far as they know, not yet with child. A report this week had Shar Jackson, Federline's ex-girlfriend and the mother of his two children, telling people that Spears is pregnant, but Jackson denied that report in an interview on Access Hollywood. She said she had spoken to Federline, and that they'd had a good laugh about the rumor. ''From what I hear, Britney is not pregnant,'' Jackson said. ''Just so everybody can get this real clear, I am not the authority on Britney Spears and Kevin Federline. I am not in Britney's womb. I am not their spokesperson/publicist. I'm none of that.''
