Real Talk (2004)

Details Release Date: Nov 16, 2004; Lead Performance: Fabolous; Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

With his third inconsistent album, Brooklyn's favorite chip-toothed gangsta lothario continues to annoy and amaze in equal measures. Braggadocious bangers like the Just Blaze-produced ''Breathe'' are suffocated by tracks like ''Baby,'' a Biggie-biting slice of lovey-dovey hip-pop pap. And at 75 minutes, Real Talk overstays its welcome by at least four songs. If Fabolous is truly striving to be ''the real talk of New York,'' he should consider dumping the R&B choruses and hiring an editor.
