Bob Dylan hasn't granted a TV interview since time out of mind. That changed on Friday, when the perpetually touring rock legend, who was in Northampton, Mass., for a concert, sat down with CBS' Ed Bradley for a 90-minute chat whose highlights will air on the Dec. 5 edition of 60 Minutes. Topics discussed, according to a CBS statement, included Dylan's career, his fame, his prickly attitude toward the media, and his relationship with his father.
Why the sudden urge to talk back to the tube? Could have something to do with Dylan's desire to promote his new book, the memoir Chronicles Volume One. As CBS acknowledges in its statement, both the network and Dylan publisher Simon & Schuster are Viacom companies.
