Call it the Kill Bill effect. Perhaps inspired by Uma Thurman's Bride, it seems every young actress wants to play a badass gun for hire. In April, Charlize Theron signed to star as a bounty hunter in Jinx, based on the cult graphic novel. Now Reese Witherspoon's production company is developing Janet Evanovich's One for the Money, about a female bounty hunter tracking down a former flame.
But Keira Knightley has the jump on them both. In the currently shooting Domino, the King Arthur star plays Domino Harvey (daughter of real-life actor Laurence Harvey), who shunned life as a Ford model to become all together now! a bounty hunter. ''I thought it would be odd that there were female bounty hunters,'' says Knightley. ''But [in L.A. the percentage of women in the job] is higher than I thought. I guess it's just prejudice, really.'' At last, parity for bounty hunters at the box office!
