Comedian Bill Bellamy may be best known as the host of ''MTV Jams,'' but that just might change with his first major film role, in ''The Brothers'' (opening March 23). Bellamy, who had smaller parts in such films as ''Any Given Sunday'' and ''Love Stinks,'' describes his new comedy as a guy version of Whitney Houston and Angela Bassett's hit chick flick ''Waiting to Exhale.'' He plays one of four African American professionals who survive the challenges of sex, love, and dating.
Entertainment Weekly's Dave Karger met up with Bellamy in his dressing room minutes before a March appearance on ''Late Night With Conan O'Brien.'' Bellamy, 35, spoke about the movie, his toughest challenge as an interviewer for MTV, and his B-ball games in the NBA Entertainment League with teammates from the first ''Survivor'' cast.
