Hootie & the Blowfish only wanna be with you tonight... and by "you," that means you and millions of other websurfers. The band's concert at the Chicago House of Blues will be broadcast live over the Internet tonight (Oct. 2) at 11:15 p.m. as the opening show of Warner Music Group's monthlong ear1 MusicFest '98. The Blowfish will be blowing tunes from their new album, "Musical Chairs," which slipped to No. 12 on the Billboard chart this week after debuting last week in fourth place.

For the next 30 days, the Warner Group will spotlight one of its artists each night, including Barenaked Ladies, Third Eye Blind, Paula Cole, Luna, and Soul Coughing. (No need to rearrange your nightlife: If you miss any bands, you'll be able to call them up from the site's archives.) No two concertgoers will see the same show because visitors can switch between six different camera feeds, essentially directing their own personal broadcast. ear1 will also have chats, interviews, trivia, and photos from the shows.

Here's the rest of the first week's schedule (all shows -- some live, some taped -- are cybercast at 7:30 p.m.):
Oct. 3 -- Kenny Wayne Shepherd
Oct. 4 -- Paula Cole
Oct. 5 -- Morcheeba
Oct. 6 -- Bryan White
Oct. 7 -- Better Than Ezra
Oct. 8 -- Freedy Johnston
