Alanis Morissette plays God in the upcoming Kevin Smith film "Dogma," and execs at her record label, Maverick, are hoping the 24-year-old singer will show the same omnipotence when her 17-song "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie" hits stores today. The target: first-week sales of one million copies. (The all-time leader is Pearl Jam's 1993 "Vs." with some 960,000.) The record's first single, "Thank U," is climbing the Billboard charts, and the song's nude video (directed by Stephane Sednaoui) is topping MTV and VH1 playlists. Even so, selling one million units of "Junkie" in seven days seems unlikely, especially since the best-selling debut by a female artist is just over 422,000, by Lauryn Hill, for "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" earlier this year.
