The Spice Girls are debuting their first post-Ginger release on the Web. The video for the ballad "Goodbye," which is on their new EP in stores Tuesday, Dec. 8, is available in streaming video on the foursome's official website. But the cornucopia of cyber-Spice-ness doesn't end there: You can also watch four live clips from their new concert video, "Live at Wembley Stadium," and two interview segments (also from the video). For example, Mel C. (Sporty) says that in England their youngest fans dress Spicey, but "in America the parents dress like us.... It's really freaky."
U2 is also using the Net to hype themselves. To publicize their latest release, "The Best of 1980-1990" (which has sold a respectable 638,000 copies in its first four weeks), the band has produced an online-exclusive three-and-a-half-minute video that features interviews with the band members, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the video for "Sweetest Thing." It's available through the Real Networks site, but not all U2 fans will find what they're looking for: The video can be seen only on the new RealPlayer G2, which won't be available for Macintosh users until the end of the year.
