Here comes the band again: The Eurythmics -- Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart -- will be reuniting on Feb. 16 to play at the 1999 Brit Awards (England's Grammys). The duo will be receiving a special award for outstanding contribution to the British music industry, and this will mark their first time performing together since 1992.
It will only be a temporary reunion (both have had successful solo careers, Lennox as a singer and Stewart as a producer and Web guru), even though it seems like the perfect time for them to stick together, what with the rampant '80s revival. But Stewart doesn't want to be lumped in with a nostalgia trip. "I think we're pretty timeless," Stewart told EW Online. "If you played 'Sweet Dreams,' it would sound like a record from now. Nothing we did is stuck in one period. We could play acoustically, or we could play with an orchestra like Ray Charles and sing 'Here Comes the Rain Again.'" Let's hear Culture Club try that.
