Jon Voight, who stars in the upcoming films "Varsity Blues" and "The General," has built an impressive career playing ultra-serious roles. But the Oscar-winning actor ("Coming Home") says one of his favorite parts of the '90s was just a goof: His 1994 cameo in a "Seinfeld" episode. "They called and said, 'Would you do a "Seinfeld"?'" Voight, who's celebrating his 60th birthday today, tells EW Online. "Sometimes I'm a little shy to do TV stuff like that, but this time I said, 'Definitely.'"
As "Seinfeld" fans know, the episode had George buying a used car that Voight once owned -- just for the bragging rights. While the "Midnight Cowboy" actor is the topic of conversation throughout the episode, he appears only at the end, when he physically attacks and bites an overenthusiastic Kramer.
"I didn't know what they wanted me to do, I figured I'd do a walk-on or some silly thing," remembers Voight, who says that many people don't realize how much he loves comedy. "All of a sudden I get the script and every page had my name on it, and it was making me laugh. When I read that I bit Kramer in the arm, I said this is perfect for me."
