Leonardo DiCaprio may have edged out Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg to win EW's Entertainer of the Year title, but the boy wonder better watch his back. According to the latest results from EW Online's year-end poll, DiCaprio ranks only a feeble seventh place with voters.

Displacing Leo in the top spot are teen sensations the Backstreet Boys. Rounding out the top 5 are Sarah Michelle Gellar, 'N Sync, Madonna, and Gillian Anderson.

DiCaprio's decision to give up working for most of '98 (resulting in more headlines for his nightclub crawls than his on-screen adventures) probably inspired the chilly reception. "All it means is that people have an even shorter attention span than we thought," says EW senior writer David Hochman.

Not to worry. Leo fans (and other concerned culture watchers) can still cast their votes in the EW Online poll.
