Brian Setzer may not have invented the current retro revival, but at the Grammys the guitarist was the King of Swing, bringing home statuettes for Best Pop Performance and Best Pop Instrumental, losing out just once to Madonna in the Best Pop Album category. Despite the kudos, Setzer begged off his role as swing standard bearer. "I don't know if I like the responsibility," Setzer tells EW Online. "I just feel like a rock 'n' roller, and then this thing took off for me. I guess I just do what I do."
The former Stray Cat has no interest in being labeled the King of Clean, either. Of his reputation for never picking up his beloved orange six string without sanitizing his hands over and over again, Setzer laughed, "It's true, I wash my hands before I play, but not 10 times. That's getting really out of hand." (reporting by Tricia Laine)
