Courting Courteney

And the 'Never Been Kissed' star hopes to keep the press out of it

Who says horror movies aren't romantic? Running from psychopaths on the set of "Scream" helped sparks fly between costars David Arquette and Courteney Cox, who are currently itching to get hitched. Now -- with a wedding in the works -- they're worried about running from stalkers of another kind: the paparazzi. "We may have to put up with helicopters or something ridiculous like that," sighs Arquette, 27, who's currently starring in "Never Been Kissed." "And that's one thing we definitely don't want."

Though Arquette admits that he and Cox, 34, are already planning the ceremony, he won't reveal the date: "It's not that we're so into keeping it a secret, it's just that we don't want it to be a madhouse. You want the people at your wedding to be the ones who are going to support your marriage and be there for you through hard times and great times. It's a private thing."

It turns out that the actor has a little extra incentive for keeping the helicopters and photographers at bay -- his new mother-in-law. "The wedding has a lot to do with making [Courteney's] mother happy," says Arquette. "That's the most important part."

Whether or not his big day gets buzzed by low-flying tabloid reporters, Arquette is trying to keep things in perspective. "It's all about not taking it too seriously and building it up too much," he explains. "People will do what they want anyway. The most important time is when we take our vows, and as long as that's not obscured or made into a mockery by the media, we'll be fine."
